It is with great sadness that Elstree and District Scouts need to inform you that Carol Denbigh passed away peacefully yesterday morning.
Carol joined Scouting in August 1973 and gave over 50 years of dedicated service. Throughout those decades she undertook a wide range of roles at Group, District and County level, giving her time, energy and experience in support of young people and adult volunteers alike. Her long-standing commitment to Cub Scouting in particular will be remembered by many.
Carol’s service to Scouting in 7th Borehamwood, across Elstree & District, and throughout Hertfordshire was significant and sustained. She brought with her a wealth of knowledge, a strong sense of duty, and a genuine care for the people around her. Her contribution over many years helped shape the Scouting experience for countless members.
Many will also know Carol alongside her husband Len, who is well known and respected within Scouting. Our thoughts are especially with Len, and with Carol’s family and close friends, at this very difficult time.
Thank you all for your kind messages and tributes shared over the past week. We will ensure these are passed on to Len and the family.
